Dr. Elliott

Doctor's Credentials

Los Angeles College of Chiropractic: B.S. Biology

Los Angeles College of Chiropractic: Doctor of Chiropractic

Graduated Cum Laude

Dr. Elliott is a native San Diegan who graduated from Torrey Pines High School in the 1980's. He then attended pre-Med after being inspired by Dr. Kenneth Belsly DC. After pre-Med Dr. Elliott attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC) from 1988 to 1991 where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biology and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Elliott met his wife Dr. Debra Asakura during classes at LACC, and they were married a year after graduation. After receiving his license in 1991 Dr. Elliott and Dr. Asakura opened Performance Chiropractic Center in Vista, CA in 1992, and Spine Decompression Center the Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression side of the clinic in 2006. He has attended postgraduate education that produced certificates of achievement in X-ray diagnosis and interpretation and achieved the status of Qualified Medical Evaluator and an Industrial Disability Evaluator in the state of California . Performance Chiropractic Center has also been rated and credentialed as a level 1 rehab facility by the Chiropractic Rehabilitation Association and the American College of Rehabilitation Science since 1997.

Dr. Elliott states that he really likes to focus of long term benefits, so he specializes in Spinal and Posture Rehabilitation using one of most technologically advanced techniques called the Pettibon System of spine and posture rehabilitation which uses specialized adjusting, exercise and weighting techniques to strengthen the posture and help restore health.

Dr. Elliott also treats serious chronic back problems like disc bulges and herniations, sciatica, spinal stenosis and spondylolistesis often considered surgical candidates, but which usually respond favorably with a new computerized treatment called Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is the latest non-invasive, conservative technology used for these serious conditions and has saved thousands from drugs and surgery.

To further Dr. Elliott's ability to offer the best care possible he has been training with a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist and author Dr. Michael Johnson who trained under Dr. Frederic Carrick who is chiropractic's only Neurological Fellow. This new chiropractic neurological technique is called Brain Based Therapy (BBT) - A new treatment program based on Dr. Carrick's work. The treatments are all neurologically based and clinically proven to help with chronic neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, migraines, RSDS, numbness, balance disorders and other neurological conditions.

Some of the treatments that are used in Brain Based Therapy are oxygen therapy, visual therapy, olfactory stimulation, auditory stimulation, spin therapy, eye exercises, heat, mirror imagery, warm calorics and the UBE or Upper Body Ergometer (similar to a bicycle for your arms).

Dr. Elliott and his patients have seen some life changing results using BBT, and he uses a neurological screening on most of his patients to determine who can be helped by this breakthrough therapy.

When it comes to hobbies Dr. Elliott enjoys Golfing, Surfing, and Fishing with his son Landon. He also enjoys wake boarding where he was seen on the front page of the local section of the North County Times on his 36th birthday. Occasionally you can see a picture of him in the Western Outdoor News with a story of his latest catch. He is considered by most to be a true waterman.
